About the Presenters

David M. Rempel, MD, MPH, CPE is Professor of Bioengineering at the University of California at Berkeley and Professor Emeritus of Medicine at UC San Francisco in the Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. He is Board certified in internal medicine, occupational medicine and ergonomics. His research focuses on hand biomechanics and the design of tools and tasks in order to improve productivity and the quality of work while preventing hand and arm fatigue and injury. Dr. Rempel is a member of the ACGIH® Threshold Limit Values for Physical Agents Committee and a member of the National Academy of Sciences, Board on Human Systems Integration. Thomas J. Armstrong, PhD, CIH is professor of Industrial and Operations Engineering and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan. He is a Certified Industrial Hygienist and a Certified Professional Ergonomist. His research is generally concerned with biomechanics as it relates to understanding and preventing musculoskeletal disorders, to the design of work equipment and procedures – especially for those with special needs. Dr. Armstrong is a member of the ACGIH® Threshold Limit Values for Physical Agents Committee.

Each registrant will receive a URL link to download the appropriate webinar materials prepared by the presenters. Materials may be duplicated for additional participants viewing the webinar at the same site. Materials will be available for download approximately one week prior to the webinar and two weeks after the live webinar date.

Test, Evaluation, and Certificate of Completion Information

Webinar Attendees Who Have Paid for the Test with Registration

Webinar attendees will be provided with a URL link to access the test and evaluation prior to the webinar. Attendees seeking confirmation of attendance from ACGIH® must complete the entire test and evaluation and mail or e-mail to ACGIH® at science@acgih.org. Tests postmarked within 30 days of the date of the webinar will be recorded and a Certificate of Completion will be issued in a timely manner.

Webinar Attendees Needing to Register for the Test

Attendees who would like to purchase a test and evaluation in order to receive a Certificate of Completion will be given a link to the ACGIH® website at the conclusion of the webinar, which will allow them to register and pay $35.00 to access the test and evaluation.

Attendees seeking confirmation of attendance from ACGIH® must complete the entire test and evaluation and mail or e-mail to ACGIH® at science@acgih.org. Tests postmarked within 30 days of the date of the webinar will be recorded and a Certificate of Completion will be issued in a timely manner. Tests received without proper registration and payment will not be recorded and will be discarded.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations are not accepted for ACGIH® Distance Learning Events. However, we recognize that emergency situations do occur that may prevent you from attending the live webinar event. In such a case, please contact Ryan Peltier at 513-742-2020 or rpeltier@acgih.org to make arrangements to receive a recording of the webinar. The recorded version is typically available 2–3 weeks after the event. In the unlikely event that ACGIH® cancels this webinar, your registration fee will be refunded in full.  Please review the information in our webinar confirmation notice and report any discrepancies to the ACGIH® office immediately.
