ACGIH® ANNOUNCES BOARD OF DIRECTORS' ELECTION RESULTS
Cincinnati, Ohio — September 5, 2003 — ACGIH® Worldwide is pleased to announce the results of its 2004 election for the Board of Directors, and its 2004 Nominating Committee.
ACGIH® members elected Robert D. Soule, E.D., CIH, CSP, PE to the position of Vice-Chair Elect. Dr. Soule, a full professor of occupational health in the Safety Sciences Department at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, will assume the position of Vice Chair-Elect beginning January 1, 2004. Dr. Soule joined ACGIH® in 1980.
Mary T. Giguere, MSPH, CIH has been elected to serve as Secretary-Treasurer-Elect, and will also begin her term on January 1, 2004. Ms. Giguere is a Certified Industrial Hygienist and is very active in the industrial hygiene community. She manages a group of industrial hygiene consultants and has served ACGIH® in many capacities. Ms. Giguere has been a member of ACGIH® since 1984.
Michael J. Blotzer MS, CIH, CSP has been elected as Member-At-Large on the ACGIH® Board of Directors. His three-year term will begin January 1, 2004. Mr. Blotzer manages the Environmental Management Office at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's John H. Glenn Research Center (NASA) Glenn) in Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Blotzer has been a member of ACGIH® since 1980.
Four members have been elected to the 2004 ACGIH® Nominating Committee. They are:
Anne L. Bracker, MPH, CIH. Ms. Bracker, a Clinical Industrial Hygienist, provides consultation and training for the Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, Connecticut. Ms. Bracker has been a member of ACGIH® since 1988.
Michael E. Miller, CIH. Mr. Miller is the Program Manager of Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety Programs for the Federal Bureau of Investigations' Laboratory Division at Quantico, Virginia. Mr. Miller has been a member of ACGIH® since 1987.
Richard D. Rinehart, ScD., CIH. Mr. Rinehart is an industrial hygienist and epidemiologist with OSHA's Directorate of Construction in Washington, D.C. Mr. Rinehart joined ACGIH® in 1991.
Valeria D. Shropshire, MSPH, CIH. Ms. Shropshire is an Industrial Hygienist for the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. She has been a member of ACGIH® since 1987.
