ACGIH® PRESENTS MOLD, SPORES AND REMEDIATION WORKSHOP

Cincinnati, Ohio — June 25, 2002 — ACGIH® is pleased to offer this workshop to its members and others in the occupational health and safety profession on two additional dates in 2002 — August 19-22 and October 21-24.

The Mold, Spores and Remediation Workshop will be held at the ACGIH® Professional Learning Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. The four-day workshop will present attendees with practical hands-on information and in-depth experience regarding mold and mold remediation methods, as well as a clear plan and strategy for sampling that can be implemented in the workplace. Workshop instructors will discuss strategies and job specifications for mold remediation projects and EPS mold remediation in schools and commercial buildings. Other select topics include:

  • Health effects
  • Bioterrorism
  • Bioaerosol sampling
  • Analysis techniques
  • Microbial remediation
  • Moisture in buildings
Each participant will receive ACGIH®'s Bioaerosols: Assessment and Control, and other course handouts.

The initial Mold, Spores and Remediation Workshop, scheduled for early May, sold out weeks prior to the workshop. To meet demand for this workshop, ACGIH® has scheduled additional workshop dates in August and October.

Post-workshop surveys have indicated that attendees were impressed with the workshop. Dr. Gary Rodabaugh, who attended the May workshop, exclaimed this is "the most valuable seminar I have attended in the last decade!" Kristin Száva, ACGIH® Director of Education, encourages early enrollment to ensure a seat at the Mold, Spores and Remediation Workshop because "The seats are going fast!"

The American Board of Industrial Hygiene has approved the workshop for 4.0 Industrial Hygiene Certification Maintenance Points.

Those interested in participating in the Mold, Spores and Remediation Workshop can register online at www.acgih.org/events/course/MoldWkshAug02.htm for the August workshop and at www.acgih.org/events/course/MoldWkshOct02.htm for the October workshop, or by contacting Anita Schmid at meetingsacgih.org or 513-742-2020. Organizations sending four or more attendees will save $50.00 on each registration.
