Cincinnati, Ohio — March 1, 2002 - ACGIH^® is pleased to announce that its members, customers, and others in the occupational and environmental health and safety profession can now download any of the 700+ Documentation for the TLVs^® and BEIs^® from the ACGIH^® website (www.acgih.org/store).

All Documentation are in PDF format and priced at $50 each. ACGIH^® members are entitled to five free Documentation downloads per year. Included in the list are Documentation for the 2002 TLVs^® and BEIs^® adopted chemical substances and physical agents, as well as draft Documentation for the substances on the Notice of Intended Changes (NIC). A complete list of the online Documentation is attached.

TLVs^® and BEIs^® are guidelines to be used by professionals trained in the practice of industrial hygiene. The TLVs^® and BEIs^® are not developed or intended to be used as legal standards. They are solely health-based values recommended by ACGIH^® committees that review existing published and peer-reviewed literature in various scientific disciplines. Based on the available information, and an analysis and evaluation process, ACGIH^® formulates a conclusion as to what level of exposure a healthy worker can experience without an unreasonable risk of disease or injury. No consideration is given to economic or technical feasibility.
