CIH Preparation: Tips, Tricks and Lessons Learned
July 22, 2020
2:00–3:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time
For IHs, the most recognized professional credential is the Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) obtained through the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH). Obtaining the CIH requires passing a comprehensive examination in relevant subject matter rubrics after meeting education and work experience requirements. This webinar will cover perspectives on preparing for the exam from three individuals. An overview of the requirements needed to sit for the exam will be covered at the beginning. The perspectives will cover self-assessment, gathering study materials, forming a game plan, and getting mentally focused for the exam. Lessons learned from those who were not successful initially will be given. The webinar will benefit students entering the profession, current professionals working to obtain the CIH, and their employers. Please note: this webinar is not intended to take the place of an exam review course.
After participating in this webinar, attendees will gain knowledge of:
- Application Process
- Resources for Preparation
- Testing – Dos and Donts before the Exam
- Lessons Learned
- Celebrate the Wins and Losses

What is an ACGIH® Webinar?
ACGIH® is dedicated to providing quality, scientific, educational events. One method of doing this is to offer distance-learning webinars. A webinar, short for Web-based seminar, is a presentation, lecture, or seminar that is transmitted over the Internet. A key feature of a webinar is its interactive elements — the ability to give, receive and discuss information. Webinars are as effective as on-site presentations without the travel expense. This ACGIH® webinar is 1.0 hours in duration and consists of a live presentation given via the Internet with no option for call in audio.
