This webinar will focus on how Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) are used in the field of Industrial Ventilation. It will demonstrate how this visual technique can be a powerful tool in ventilation design and in troubleshooting industrial ventilation systems. Not only will attendees gain an understanding of how to use CFD, but also why it has become a critically important method used in the evaluation, optimization, and diagnosis of existing problems with industrial ventilation systems. By using CFD one can expect to see gains in system efficiency and operating cost savings. Every practitioner of ventilation system design and troubleshooting should know and understand this new, advanced, computer-based diagnostic tool.

The webinar will start with a brief explanation of what Computational Fluid Dynamics entails, followed by how CFD works. Several examples of CFD practical applications will be shown in a simple, visual way so that the audience can really see why CFD is an advanced tool, capable of providing great benefits for the system designers, troubleshooters, and maintenance personnel. We will focus on how CFD can actually save money and make companies more competitive. Finally, we will show (with actually CFD images) how to use CFD to design the correct hood shape and to select the best hood location that will optimize system design flow rates that are required to efficiently capture the desired pollutants.
