“The Action Level!®” is a monthly continuing education column within the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Hygiene (JOEH). It’s a convenient, cost-efficient, at-home, self-study, continuing education program through which Certified Industrial Hygienists (CIHs), Certified Associate Industrial Hygienists (CAIHs), and Certified Safety Professionals (CSPs) can help maintain their certifications.
The Board for Global EHS Credentialing® (BGC®) and the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) have both approved this self-study continuing education program. BGC® awards up to 12 contact hours of CM credit per year for CIHs and CAIHs, and BCSP awards up to 1.2 recertification points per year for CSPs for successful participation.
Participants must read each issue of the Journal, answer “The Action Level!®” questions, and submit their answers. Credit is awarded only four times each year – in March, June, September, and December – to participants who score an average of 70 percent or better within each three-month quarter. To earn credit in any quarter, participants must satisfactorily submit answers for all three months of that quarter.
“The Action Level!®” is a calendar year subscription running from January 1 to December 31 of each year. New participants in the program can enroll at any time. But their enrollment fees will be prorated by the number of quarters they are eligible to participate.
