ACGIH® Announces Board of Directors' Election Results



Cincinnati, Ohio — November 27, 2002 — ACGIH® Worldwide is pleased to announce the results of its 2003 election for the Board of Directors, and its 2003 Nominating Committee.

ACGIH® members elected Cindy A. Coe Laseter, CIH, to the position of Vice-Chair Elect. Ms. Laseter is the Regional Administrator for Region IV of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in Atlanta, Georgia. In this capacity, she manages the OSHA program in the eight southeastern states. Ms. Laseter has been an active ACGIH® member for over 20 years, serving on the Nominating Committee in 1996, and serving as an ACGIH® member on the Permanent Conference Committee from 1999 to 2002. She will assume the position of Vice-Chair Elect beginning January 1, 2003.

Brenda J. Gordon, CIH, has been elected as Member-At-Large on the ACGIH® Board of Directors. Her three-year term will begin January 1, 2003. Ms. Gordon is the Area Director in the Boston South OSHA Office, the largest and busiest office in New England. Ms. Gordon has been an ACGIH® member since 1983.

Four members have been elected to the 2003 ACGIH® Nominating Committee. They are:

Jack Caravanos, DrPH, CIH, CSP. Dr. Caravanos is an Assistant Professor at Hunter College of the City University of New York. There he directs the ABET accredited M.S. and MPH degree programs in Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety. Dr. Caravanos joined ACGIH® in 1990.

Deborah L. Contreras, MPH, MS, CIH. Ms. Contreras is an industrial hygienist at the U.S. Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventative Medicine (USACHPPM)-North at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland. Ms. Contreras joined ACGIH® in 1990.

Neil C. Davis, CIH. Mr. Davis is a senior industrial hygienist for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Directorate of Guidance and Standards in Bethesda, Maryland. Mr. Davis has been a member of ACGIH® since 1994.

Joseph A. Terra, MS, CIH. Mr. Terra is a U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps Officer currently serving as the East Coast Senior Environmental Health Program Manager for the Department of Health and Human Services, Program Support Center's (PSC) Division of Federal Occupational Health (FOH) with operational oversight of offices in Boston, Massachusetts, New York, New York, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C. Mr. Terra has been a member of ACGIH® since 1989.
