ACGIH® ANNOUNCES NEW MEMBERS OF THE 2009 BOARD OF DIRECTORS
AND 2009 NOMINATING COMMITTEE
— October 22, 2008 — ACGIH® is pleased to announce new members for its 2009 Board of Directors and its 2009 Nominating Committee.
Lisa M. Brosseau, ScD, CIH will assume the position of Vice Chair-Elect. She will begin her four-year term on January 1, 2009. Dr. Brosseau is an Associate Professor in the Division of Environmental Health Sciences, School of Public Health at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Brosseau joined ACGIH® in 1995.
Robert F. Wheaton, MPH, CIH will assume the position of Director-At-Large on the ACGIH® Board of Directors. He will begin his three-year term on January 1, 2009. Mr. Wheaton has held EH&S positions working within academic settings, beginning at Harvard University, as IH Manager and Assistant Director for Environmental Health and Safety and, for the last 10 years, as Executive Director of Environmental Health and Safety for Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Mr. Wheaton has been a member of ACGIH® since 2003.
The 2009 ACGIH® Nominating Committee will include four new members. They are:
Christine A. Corrigan, CIH. Ms. Corrigan is a Team Leader/Assistant Area Director for the U.S. Department of Labor/OSHA in Denver, Colorado. She has been with OSHA for 14 years and has served both as a Compliance Officer and Assistant Area Director. Ms. Corrigan joined ACGIH® in 1994.
Ralph W. Rogers, CIH. Mr. Rogers has been an industrial hygienist for 29 years. He is currently a Senior Industrial Hygienist for the U.S. Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine (USACHPPM). Mr. Rogers is responsible for providing industrial hygiene consultation services and support to Army and Department of Defense military and civilian units and facilities. Mr. Rogers joined ACGIH® in 1985.
Bill Wells, PhD, CIH, CSP. Dr. Wells has over 25 years of professional experience. He is currently the Safety Compliance Program Manager for the University of California at the Lawrence Berkeley Lab. He is responsible for providing leadership and technical direction for implementation of the DOE "Worker Safety and Health Program". Dr. Wells joined ACGIH® in 1999.
Gary C. Wright, MS, PE, CIH, BCEE. Mr. Wright has been an environmental, safety, and industrial hygiene professional for more than 20 years. He currently oversees research efforts aimed at reducing the environmental and occupational health hazards from hazardous materials encountered at the Department of Defense. Mr. Wright joined ACGIH® in 2004.
