ACGIH® Opens New Professional Learning Center
Cincinnati, Ohio - February 9, 2001 - ACGIH® Worldwide announced today that the expansion of its headquarters, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, has been completed. The new area includes 5,000 square feet of additional space that will be used for future seminars, conferences, and meetings. The space will also be available for rent to local professional groups and associations for their professional functions.
Richard A. Strano, CAE, Executive Director of ACGIH® stated, "I am personally proud of our members' Headquarters, and believe that all who visit the facility will share my pride." He went on to add "the Professional Learning Center will allow ACGIH® to further advance its entry into the educational arena. The Center, along with the addition of our new Director of Education, Kristin Száva, is in alignment with our Strategic Plan. It also allows us to offer members and customers a wider variety of educational opportunities."
Száva, who brings over 10 years experience to the position, commented, "I am looking forward to building on the educational foundation that has been established by ACGIH® and its members. The new Professional Learning Center will allow for the development of a number of new continuing education programs, including our upcoming Ergonomics course, and a more specific offering involving the Hand Activity Level Threshold Limit Value (HAL-TLV®). As the developer of the HAL-TLV®, ACGIH® will provide integrity and expertise to the program that cannot be found elsewhere." She went on to add, "ACGIH® is known to its members and customers in the occupational health and safety profession as a leader in the development and dissemination of scientific and technical information.
