Managing occupational exposures to hazards associated with rare earth element (REE) mining will require increased attention due to the growing global market. When conducting baseline assessments to evaluate the occupational health risks and level of compliance on mining sites, novel approaches are required to be taken due to the lack of published occupational exposure limits (OELs) for REE, as well as the outdated legislative limits for ionizing radiation in mining regulations.
