In 2003, FOHS was awarded a substantial grant by the YIHWAG Family Foundation. The grant was made to FOHS to benefit the needs of educational organizations in developing countries throughout the world. From this grant, FOHS established the Worldwide Outreach Program.

The Worldwide Outreach Program has as its mission to support the professional development of occupational health and safety with emphasis on primary prevention in Occupational Hygiene. Qualifying educational organizations, professional organizations, and non-government organizations and/or collaborating centers seeking to further the goals of the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centers in Occupational Health’s 2009-2012 Work Plan are encouraged to apply to receive program grants ranging from $1,000-$2,000.

Members of the ACGIH® International Committee serve as a review panel for applications to receive grant funds. Grants are awarded annually to selected recipients. Two recipients were selected to receive the 2007 Worldwide Outreach Program Awards. View current and past recipients below.
