Webinar – Respirator Fit Testing: Common Errors and Solutions

OSHA requires respirator fit testing for employees who are required to wear tight fitting respirators. Unfortunately, the fitting characteristics of filtering facepiece respirators (FFRs) are poorly understood. In addition, while OSHA accepted fit testing protocols are well defined, they are frequently administered incorrectly. As a result, poorly fitting respirators can pass the fit test.  This is particularly true when qualitative respirator fit testing is administered for FFRs. This not only has consequences for the respirator wearer, who assumes the test has been administered correctly, but puts the employer at risk. This presentation will review the most common qualitative fit testing errors and provide solutions to prevent them from recurring.
