What is The Action Level?

The Action Level is an at-home, self-study,  continuing education program for Certified Industrial Hygienists (CIHs), Certified Associate Industrial Hygienists (CAIHs), and Certified Safety Professionals (CSPs).

How Many Points Can I Earn?

CIHs and CAIHs can earn 3 contact hours of Certification Maintenance (CM) credit per quarter (up to 12 contact hours per year).  CSPs can earn 0.9 recertification point per quarter (up to 3.6 recertification points per year).  If you have dual certifications, you can earn both at the same time!

How Does It Work?

Each month, participants read the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Hygiene (JOEH), answer questions pertaining to articles in that month’s issue, and submit their answers to be processed by the specified deadline.  It’s that simple!  Credit is awarded four times each year.  To earn the designated credit, a score of 70% or better is required within each quarter, and answer sheets for all three months of that quarter must be satisfactorily completed by the specified deadline.

Who Can Participate?

Any CIH, CAIH, or CSP who has timely access to JOEH can participate in The Action Level  ACGIH® and AIHA members receive a 12 month online subscription to JOEH as a benefit of their membership. Nonmembers may subscribe to JOEH through Taylor and Francis or join ACGIH today!
